Who is a Climate Hero?

We will be giving out awards in two categories this year: NYC Community Hero and Workplace Hero. Anyone can nominate a Climate Hero!

NYC Community Hero:
An individual that has gone above and beyond in the NYC community to raise awareness and collective action.

NYC Workplace Hero:
A woman who has gone above and beyond in 2023 to introduce planet friendly and impact reducing initiatives at their workplace and/or company (Ex. Starting an internal sustainability group, reducing single-use waste at the workplace, advocating for vegan/vegetarian options at events, etc). Ideally this person's job description does not include sustainability initiatives

Who is eligible?

Womxn who live in the greater NYC area. Must be available to receive the award at WAC’s NYC Climate Event on Sept 19, 2023 in person. The NYC Workplace Hero should be a working professional, but the NYC Community Hero can be a student or professional

What does a good nomination look like?

Please ensure you take the time to make the case as to why your nominee is a climate hero and why they should receive this award. You may want to include testimonials, stories, or impact. We will contact you during our review process if we need additional information. You are welcome to submit more than one nomination. You are welcome to nominate yourself.

What is the deadline for nominations?

All nominations must be submitted by Sept 1st
