June ‘22 NYC Dinner

Our June Women and Climate event was a winner! 👭🏽🌍🗽

Twenty of us came together to support a small local woman-owned cafe called Coconana based in Brooklyn. We enjoyed a three course Vietnamese vegan meal while networking, making new friends, and making our own scrunchies with upcycled and scrap material!

Hannah, the owner of Coconana, shared with us the many sustainability practices at her shop. They host monthly clothing swaps, a selection of thrift clothing for sale, reusable cups and utensils, use of sustainable materials like coconut shells for bowls, a community printer, and also smaller food portions to reduce food waste and excess. We enjoyed learning about her cafe and her lesson on how to make scrunchies!

It was wonderful to not only meet new friends but also to see many returning faces. Can’t wait for our next event and other initiatives that will grow from our community!

Special shoutout to our cohosts Stephanie Korbely and Katie Blum, CPA!

Our July event will be announced next week! Sign up for alerts and spread the word! No climate experience necessary! www.womenandclimate.co
