Feb ‘22 NYC Dinner

“Scope 3 emissions discussions are best had over wine”
-A wise guest at the Women and Climate NYC dinner this week 🙋‍♀️🍷🌍

I love networking, food and wine, and talking about climate, so this week, I organized our first Women and Climate NYC dinner! I started with 6 spots open, and we ended up a group of 12 amazing ladies!

I had such a blast. Talking about the state of climate VC, carbon reporting, everyone’s personal sustainability journey, not to mention the amazing food and wine that we paired with the conversation. Our dinner was held at Sestina by Matthew Kenney Cuisine, a trendy vegan pasta bar in Manhattan. The food was fabulous!

We had great representation from a wide range of companies large and small: IBM, McKinsey & Company, ERM: Environmental Resources Management, Equal Ventures, Persefoni, Sustain.Life, Numina, and of course, clever carbon! Women & Climate NYC

Many women were already working in climate, but more importantly, we had a few attendees that were interested in starting their climate journey and found our gathering inspirational and motivating! The group is called Women and Climate vs Women in Climate to make it more inclusive.

My key takeaway for all is that everyone can work in climate today. You don’t need a special degree, you don’t need to leave your job, there’s something we can all do, and the more people that know, the better. I talk more about this topic in a previous webinar for those looking to get into climate work 👉 https://lnkd.in/gBj9MfXk

I’m already planning our next one for March! If you’re interested or know someone that might be, I’ll be announcing the details through this mailing list, please subscribe and share:
